Brooklynites finally found the perfect excuse to go to the South Bronx!

Thousands of people, including yours truly attended the Bernie Sanders rally at St. Mary’s Park and they were shocked to see how much the South Bronx, especially the area of Mott Haven is changing. New restaurants, bars and even some hidden distilleries on the fourth floor of an industrial building?? It’s not on google maps, you have to go there to find it.

According to The Real Deal  “In 2014 [The Bronx] saw an influx of $1.2 billion worth of real estate investment, a 26 percent jump from the prior year, according to data from Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr.’s office”

Sales Volumes have also increased rapidly, sales in 2014 were $2.39 Billion compared to $613 Milion. That’s quadruple the sales in three years!

There’s also a growing artistic and musical scene in Mott Haven. Just recently, I was invited to the Port Morris Distillery, located on E 133 Street and Willow Ave for an event called “Doin’ in the Port” a wonderful Open Mic, it brought black white and latino people together in harmony to celebrate Women’s month.

There’s also the Bronx Art Space, located at 305 E 140 St, between Third Ave and Alexander Ave. Walking near the Bruckner Expressway, a few blocks from the 6 train Cypress Ave station is the Crossfit Sobro gym located at 141 Street and Jackson Ave.

There’s plenty of action going on in Mott Haven. We hope that if you are moving here that you contact a Real Estate professional who knows the area and is backed by a team with 25 years of experience.
